If I do at least two sodoku’s a day and two cross word puzzles will I NOT have some weird memory disease.
Devin M asked:
when I’m older? I’m 14 and was wondering if I do that will I still be smart and have good memory (even short term) when I’m older?

While Sudoku can be effective in preventing diseases like Alzheimer’s, it’s not guarenteed to ward off mental illness. You may have genes that encode for mental illness and playing Sudoku will not change this. Also, your lifestyle (ie alcohol consumption, exercise, diet) affects your likeliness of developing mental illness. There are many factors that affect your likeliness of developing a mental illness but Sudoku is a good preventative measure; it just does not ensure 100% that you will avoid developing one.

Sodoku is good mental exercise though not the only mental effective exercise; and that’s good for you, yes. A satisfying, challenging mental life is good for mental, physical and social life, and building habits now is an investment in your own future. Best to pick what YOU find fun
There is however only one guarentee in life (we ALL get to die, at some point).

There are no guarantees. Try reading some good literature instead. It will keep your mind active and healthy and it will be more satisfying in the long run.
On the other hand, I’m doing a sudoku right now…
