look everywhere
make sure that you won’t repeat a number in a box or a line.

Don’t just look at the puzzle as squares, look in lines too. It is really hard to explain the way I do it. It is a long process but I rule out every possibility like i will look at a square and if a 9 and a 2 can go in that square and there is no way anything else can go there then I will write a tiny 9 and 2 at the top of the little square just so I know that either the 9 or the 2 can go there. I just keep ruling everything out. I go through each square tile and line and back again until I get the puzzle complete.

Go through and do boxes – solve the easy stuff first. Then switch and start working on columns/rows.
The more puzzles you complete the easier it will be.
